DJI Mavic 3 Pro – The first-ever drone with 3 Cameras

DJI Mavic 3 Pro, the new DJI’s flagship folding drone is coming with 3 cameras. Thus, bringing an experience that never felt before. Overall, we see the difference in image quality, video resolution, video recording stability, and much more. Previously, we see 2 variants of Mavic 3 drones, the affordable Mavic 3 Classic mode and the original Mavic 3 that was released in the year 2021. However, the Mavic 3 Pro is the winner of all of these 3 models.

What’s more exciting than having 3 Cameras, and 3 Lenses to record a video using a DJI’s Mavic Pro drone? I don’t think there is any other drone in the market that provides such quality footage as this drone.

In general, the design, excellence in the fight system, and safety features are similar to the previous DJI’s Mavic drones.

Photography and Videography recordings, using a flying drone are always in demand. People make a lot of money by making breathtaking footage and pictures from aerial view. This is also very popular in Asian countries, they hire photographers to take pictures and record videos using a flying drone. As the experience is quite unique when you see yourself and your loved ones from the aerial view or birds-eye view. They say a South Asian wedding is incomplete without footage of a flying drone.

But what about the people who are not into the photography business? And they want a flying drone as a hobbyist? Well, these are some good questions, and is it the right time to upgrade your flying drone to DJI’s Mavic Pro model?

DJI Mavic 3 Pro Design, Size and Camera:

On the other hand, there is nothing much to say about the design of the new model of DJI’s drone. As it looks quite similar to its previous models in the range. Other than the Camera unit, this is the basic and vital difference you will notice when you compare it to the previous models. The standard Mavic 3 variant, and the Mavic 3 Classic, contain only 2 distinct modules. Whereas, the Mavic 3 Pro now have 3 distinct models and that is a clear difference between all of them.

Otherwise, the design, shape, and look are almost ideal for all these three Mavic flying drones. As the build quality of this quadcopter is impressive, as they use a hard-wearing, strongly build plastic. Also, it has a USB-type C port and a microSD card slot at the back of this drone.

The size of this quadcopter is no bigger than a water bottle when it’s folded down. Having under 1KG of weight makes it more durable and increases the air resistance, as well as the portability. It comes with a strap-on cover, which protects the breakable parts of the drone-like (Camera, Propellers, and Gimbal). But, if you want to get an amazing protective carrying bag with it, you may need to opt for more than 1 “Fly More” bundle. This protective bag not only protects the drone, but has a separate and delicate space for the controller, charging hub, spare batteries, and much more.

However, the price of these bundles is over $2,199, which is the default price of the DJI’s Mavic Pro 3 drone. Whereas, the DJI Mavic 3 Pro “Fly More Combo” costs around $3,889 at the moment. Additionally, at this price, you get a DJI RC Pro with 1080p high-bright screen resolution, a pack of 2 extra batteries, a Battery Charging Hub (enables multiple battery charging), an ND Filters Set, and much more.

Moreover, there is a separate variant for professionals, and that is DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine Premium Combo version. That is going to cost you around $4,799, and at this price, you get a 1TB SSD built-in, Apple ProRes Recording Support, RC Pro Controller, and 2 extra batteries. The Apple ProRes recording comes with the Cine Premium variant only, you can not use this feature in the other models.

Flight performance: Super safe, super simple

The fly-control of the Mavic Pro 3 is absolutely insane, just like previous Mavic 3 models. This quadcopter also fulfills all the criteria to ignore air resistance and improves the stability of the drone. This technology gives an out-of-the-world experience to pilot the Mavic 3 Pro drone.

Currently, the Mavic 3 Pro has a flying time of 43 minutes with 1 battery. Previously, we see the standard variants of Mavic 3 provide a flying time of around 46 minutes. But, the stability of this drone is better and improved than the previous models. There is only a 3-minute flying difference between the Mavic 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Classis.

Moreover, the object sensing system named “Omnidirectional Sensor”, works as a protective gear and protects your drone from clopping into the walls, the trees, and any object. Not only that, this omnidirectional sensor covers all the angles of the drone, which makes your flying experience safer. But, this sensor only works with the Normal and Cinema mode. This does not support the “Sport Mode”, so make sure to fly carefully when you are in the sport mode.

Image quality: Third time’s the charm

Let’s jump into the exciting section of this post, the Camera. The basic difference of the new Mavic 3 Pro model is the Camera. It has 3 cameras unlike previous models and the aerial photography has improved a lot. When we talk about the 48MP Telephoto Camera of this drone, is much better than the standard camera. As it provides 70mm of focal length, which is greater than the Mavic 3 classic and standard variants.

Yet, in the total of 3 cameras, the main Camera of Mavic Pro 3 is having the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution technology. This technology is also known as the (HNCS) in short form. Moreover, it has a (17.3 x 13mm) sensor, 20MP Four Thirds camera. With the (equiv.) focal length of 24mm, which you also see in the previous models.

The other 2 cameras sitting on the main camera are 2 telephoto cameras. The optical zoom capacity of these 2 are 3x and 7x, with 70mm and 166mm of focal lengths.

The color profiles of this drone are (D-Log M, D-Log, HLG, and Apple ProRes (only available in Cine Premium Version). If you are looking to buy a drone to shoot smaller subjects from an aerial view, then you must go for the Cine Premium variant of this drone. As it gives your photography a different look, it can take photographs from a long-range and be more accurately than ever.
